If SCAN carries any cheap case fans I would have bought from them, but SCAN really sucks for not having any cheap (i.e. relatively low quality) products.

Friend of a friend got a soundcard and speakers from ebuyer recently - the soundacard shipped underneath the speakers, with no protection at all...the PCI backplate was bent at almost 90 degrees LOL
That said, ive nto had any btoehr with them over the years, hope they arent on the way out even if there are better alternatives a lot of the time such as Scan.
Had a few problems with EBuyer, my main gripe tho is the fact there website is about as fast as an old one legged man running thru treacle...
Ebuyer I've found VERY good.Originally Posted by Trash Man

Only problem i had with Ebuyer, a little over a year ago, ordered 4 19" TFTs for £110, they decided they didn't want to send them to me. A recorded letter later, i had my 4 TFTs and a further 10% off as an apology... neat.
better service than i've had from scan, dabs, wattford.......
microdirect and aria are now my supliers of choice, ebuyer dosen't seam cheap any more

Never had a problem using them and they were always very cheap. Just had a look at the website and it's rubbish. E-tailing requires the best website design you can get i.e customer can find anything in 60 secs. This used to be true but isn't now. If I can't find something fast I go somewhere else.

very true. Scan and Aria are the best at the moment for fidning stuff quickly. Dabs hasn't been any good since they changed the name to Dabs.com.
Although i think Simply used to be one of the worst to use. Only used eBuyer once, for a set of HarmonKardon Soundsticks, they were £40 cheaper than most other places.
isnt aria's customer support a bit iffy
ive had nothing but good experiences over the years with ebuyer and the sites great for reviews on stuff etc , its probably so slow because of the amount of traffic they deal with
not only customers but those who just use it for curisosity and reviewing products and then buying elsewhere plus all those etickets and rma's to sort out !
scan seem to be spot on in every department apart from variety, but were being a bit selfish really
you want the service and free delivery of scan , prices and reviews of ebuyer and page serving speed like google
if one etailer had to get all that the rest of them would die off leaving no competition.....
Blame scan, lol there to good.
I quite like ebuyer, used them before, they were fine. I take it CPUcity are bust as well?
Must be, there website hasn't worked for months.
And even worse since BT took over. Isn't it sorta ironic that a telecoms operator takes it over and it is still impossible to talk to them (being as they don't publish any telephone numbers..)Originally Posted by Funkstar

Ebuyers site is often very slow, and if you try to open multiple sections in different tabs it gets very confused and tries to find cpu's in networking or something equally stupid.
Ebuyer has its flaws (like annoying delivery and slow to respond customer service), but I would credit them with making cables and assorted minor gubbings cost £1 or less instead of £10 what they used to be elsewhere (like in pcworld and even other online retailers). They have a staggering variety of stuff. They were the ones to sell a huge variety of cases for £10-£20 when elsewhere you'd be lucky to get a budget case for 30 quid.
And I think its unfair to compare ebuyers delivery to free shipping from scan anyway. Scan's shipping prices are actually quite high - its great that we don't have to see them, but for joe public they aren't that cheap to be honest.
I would be very sad to see them go. Much as I liked komplett more than ebuyer before and much as i like scan now i really think that we need ebuyer. I know that if there's something i need i should be able to find it there. And thats something to be respected.
