Dabs?!? They were bad enough *before* BT bought them - god knows how bad they're going to get now

dabs aren't excellent, they mess up from time to time, but then most retailers do. my main gripes with citylink are:

if they attempt to deliver twice, they'll not try again, even if you ask (so, if you're away, and something you ordered aaages ago is delivered, they'll try on monday and tuesday, you get in tuesday evening, you have to pay them an extra fiver to deliver or go pick up).

i live in a large city, with over 150,000 people (brighton, since you don't ask). citylink's nearest office is a 48 mile round trip (hailsham, if memory serves correctly) which takes over an hour and a half. not really one for linking cities..

they refuse to leave stuff next door/in nice cupboard, unlike other curiours..

that's about it. doesnt seem like much, but if i have to spend an hour and a half and £8 on fuel to pick up an item every time i order, i may as well buy locally and support the economy. i understand that some retailers use them because they do automatic tracking and stuff (and i bet they have a good price if you have an exclusivity arrangement), but please, for petes sake, use parcel force. yeah, they're just as crap at times, but if you work 9-5 you can arrange to have the stuff picked up at your local post office for 50p. a great service that, imo, can't be beat. we're not all students.

I agree about Citylink. Its extremely rare to get any kind of parcel delivered By Citylink that isnt squashed, bashed or at least has one of the corners crushed. They point blank refuse to give you a receipt when you send stuff back (heres a £300 graphics card, dont worry about the receipt HUH?). Saturday deliveries are hit and miss, usually miss. Weekday deliveries are usually on time though.

Recently ordered my monitor from Dabs was stupid enough to pay for next day delivery... took them about 5 days to confirm my payment and only arrived a week later on. The Amtrak tracking system informed it was with the driver all the time, it seems the driver got emotionally attached and couldn’t bear to see it go.

Problems are bound to happen no matter how good the company is. A company with bad customer service is a no go for me NTL is already enough for me to handle.

Just the other day i called scan and almost fall in love with the sweet feminine voice on the other side, rob me blindly I would say.

    Probably time they went!

Ordered a tv tuner card yesterday from them, used their 99p delivery as I'm not really in a great hurry.

The annoying thing is that the item is in stock, they took my money and will sit on my little parcel till Friday when they will despatch it.

Thats just stupid and mean - they call it super saver delivery

    Bunch of ..................rs!

What a daft thing to say...you get what you pay for! it's not like they haven't got other things to do with there time..

Anyway they do often send things before they say even on discounted delivery.

    Not really daft!

order screen says payment taken, ready for despatch, ship Friday.

Obviously very busy remembering when to despatch things days later.

I wish. They managed to leave one of my parcels in someone else's
greenhouse. On a completely different street to mine, despite the same driver having delivered a parcel to me the previous day.
