I used to be scared of insects in the UK until I spent some time in Borneo - I go there quite regularly - where, frankly, GIANT INSECTS OF EVIL RULE THE COUNTRY!!!!! Then there's the snakes, the lizards etc etc..
Wonderful place - i'm sure lots of you want to go there now
Wow you really are a bunch of wusses arent you!! They are only spiders and moths and such, what are they going to do, eat you?Originally Posted by Howard
What happened to men being men Just kidding.
My sister hates moths, pretty much cries if a big one goes near her, i have to get moths, daddy long legs and spiders out practically every night in summer.
You'd be surprised - Malaysia is a _very_ multicultural place and as such there's a huge variance in the food offered to cater for the all the different religions/tastes. I'm thinking of buying a house out there atm.. I'll double check with my relatives over there on the veggy front and post up laterOriginally Posted by htid
I treat the eight legged buggers like I would a ticking bomb - try to not go near it and back track if possible.
I was shocked one night when I erncountered a king sized house spider doing a Linford Christy across the lounge floor, what really surprised was when I shouted, "Where the hell do you think you are going matey?", he/it stopped, turned and seemed to stand looking at me with what must have been an arachnic blank expression. He then continued his Olympic bid by disappearing under the couch. Couldn't find him again Not pleasant, I may have to get a cat or dog, they seem to like eating them.
my god i thought me and kitty were having a bad week
first of i went to turn the bedroom light off the other night and what was there ?
a huge monster as i call it right on the door next to the light switch
me and kitty were pondering wether it was dead or not as it didnt budge a inch for about 30 mins so i finaly built upthe guts to crush it 1
huge spiders seem to be every were at the moment
I used to hate spiders with a passion - even after they got crushed, I was too afraid to clean it up in case it resurrected - which funnily enough happened once, well....it was playing dead so I was gonna scoop it up until it jumped back on its feet and lept away - I was absolutely terrified and definately wouldve taken a one-inch punch in the face in favour of dealing with that spider!
Anyhoo, Im not afraid of spiders now - I did a job once in which I had spiders crawling all over me and it was unavoidable. I've even started to feel a bit of compassion now and capture spiders and let them out loose elsewhere instead of killing them - esp if everyone else wants to kill them.
My remaining fears are snakes.....and lizards . . . . eurgh, Ive only had a few encounters with them, but Im really not too sure of how to get over those! I think I need a trek in the amazon or something!
I'm sorry, this is making me feel ill.
Stewart was watching the Mark Steel lectures?
