Spiders...ugh. I don't like the mess they make when splattered, so i shift them quick out of the window. Other night though, was laying in bed when a spider run out from under the covers... it's been a long time since i slept downstairs...

On a similar note, i randomly found a couple of woodlice in my room...

I also have the job of keeping my sister safe from spiders, moths, daddy long legs, the boogieman, the dark etc.

I had a masive one in my bed the other night too - one of the ones with long thin legs... eew...

I hate to kill them, so after jumping out of skin I had to wake pops up at about 1:30 to remove him

I didn't sleep well that night.

I don't mind daddy long legs now, I just catch them in my hand and throw them out the window. ALWAYS have my window shut after around 7pm because otherwise you get obese moth's that have a fetish with your lightbulb and in particular, I tend to get the ones that like to fly around in circles as fast as their huge hairy wings will let them.

Try placing a daddy long-legs in a spider web, they instantly rush toward it and wrap it up ready for dinner... better yet try putting another spider on a web, they don't like sharing!

Just been reading up on crane flies and apparently there are more of them this year because of the distinct lack of wasps. Which I find very easy to comprehend as I haven't seen many wasps at all this year. Has anyone else noticed this?

In fact yes, now that you mention it. I haven't seen a single wasp this summer.

As for stopping daddy long legs getting in, I either just have to close my curtians or have the light off (although some of them still seem to come in to get to the monitor anyway)

If possible, get some net curtains and tape the bottom to the window sill (stops the wind blowing it up and letting them in). At least that is what I have done. I suppose you could get a mosquito net and stretch it over the window which would have to added benefit of stopping anything from getting in.
From what I hear in the news, it's the climate changes that are causing lots of spiders/lack of wasps.
