Its not just the items you have to be wary of with eBay though. I not so long ago bid on a PSU for my PC (I've learnt to always keep a spare) and what with my burgeoning Paypal account, I felt the need to splash out on something.

Anyway, I bid on what appeared to be a very good offer, a triple fan 550watt PSU, so I bid in the full understanding that its probably total carp, but it wold be handy when the next PSU goes boobs up. However, a simple transaction turned out to be a terrible experience. Because I don;t have bank funding set up in Paypal, I'm not a verified memeber, as such the seller wanted to see copies of utility bills or the like to proceed with the sale. HUH? I of-course declined - I've never had to provide ID to buy something before and whilst I, like a great many others, are aware of the potential for fraud with Paypal, its easy enough to wait for a pyament to clear and make contact with the payee if you are not sure. So what happens next? I get an email from the seller telling me that if I don't provide the ID, then I don't get the product. Fine, I'll have my money back I said, but nooooo, sorry no refund they said. Okay I said, I'll ask Paypal for the money back then (chargeback), no you wont they said. So I phoned them - not a wise move I found out - I listened to the worst tirade verbal of abuse I have ever heard, followed by "I'm sending the boys round to deal with you".

I did the chargeback and got my money back, complained to eBay but got ticked off myself - why? Because the lunatic was a Powerseller and they have power beyond sanity itself. All that powersellers have to do (an experienced eBay Powerseller told me this) is call the customer service rep they get given a number for, and they (the eBay rep) will noble the other party somehow.

I treat eBay with cotton gloves. Whilst its got nearly everything you could want, its also a hotbed of madness, fraud and skullduggery. My father said he might sell the contents of his loft on eBay, I told him how bad it could turn out - get the common all garden house clearers to do it, he may get less, but he'll probably live longer.

    Unlocked

but in the written section it says........... it is an Orange handset, but can be unlocked to operate on any network very easily. Do Not Delay, Bid Today!!!!

so i looked through the bidders and the sellers feedback and to no surprise there was names that hooked up on several occasions , obviously trying to raise feedback and up the sales of items

    so i sent a message saying .....

why are you selling the phone in the unlocked section when you state that it is locked to orange but can be unlocked ?

false advertising and very misleading if its easy to unlock YOU UNLOCK IT not leave it to some poor sod that buys it then realises there so called phone isnt unlocked atall and has to get the phone not just unlocked but a firmware flash to get rid of the terrible orange software branding !

and i get this polite response this morning .....

    mind your own business!

    pr*ck

can someone help me report this clown or even better seince ive noticed him upping the bids on some of his auctions could someone use a spare account and punt it up to silly amounts as this kind of cheat dont deserve to make anything on ebay never mind rip of people who might not have clocked it properly

    the link is here ...http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...%3AUK%3A1&rd=1

ive tried searching ebay help to report it but cant find anything ....
mated there are so many of them dont even bother, i went round a couple of weeks ago going mad at people who were listing there amd 3200+ as a 3.2 ghz so everyone i saw i gave the same msg about false advertising and every1 i saw bid i would shoe evidence of the lie

but know1 cares and he was like yer my x2 3800+ is 4 ghz, i said no its not you fool, he said its 2x2 ghz, and i snapped at him so bloody anoying some ppl. if i ever met some of them they would be going to hospital

oh and why would the n70 be bad for tomtom?

ive used tomtom since i got my first 6600 when it came out and every other top s60 phone since and its never really faulted me, except obviously newly built estates etc .....

but the new tomtom6 has the new updated maps and quite a few nice features which i will probably use mostly on my n91 which is a spare phone and used only for playing mp3's and browsing wlans and not on the n80 as thats the one i used for calling and keeping things upto date

and the new n93 which im waiting on has the most powerfull ever symbian cpu and a 3d gfx accelerator and a very big screen which sits glat and props the screen up could be the ultimate phone edition of tomtom yet!
