Broken Nose - An Update

So as some of you know, I broke my nose a couple of weeks ago. The previous threads on it are here:

I had it re-set last thursday, and had to go back to the ENT clinic for a checkup today.

Apparently, my nasal cavity has collapsed again, so I've got to have emergency surgery on it to reconstruct it. Hopefully I'll get the call in the morning to say that I've got a slot in theatre in the afternoon.

Does anyone here know the procedure for this, and how long it will take me to recover?

Ah man, I really feel for you. I guess you will won't be going up for any headers again!

I believe they go in up the nostril, clear the cavity, cauterise it then pack it till its healed. On of my mates had that, but it all depends on what needs doing.

Well, as no-one I know has had it done, I can't offer an insight into the proceedure, just wanted to wish you all the best, and a speedy recovery

Thanks for the support guys. I'm not looking forward to the recovery part of it, but I just want this over and done with now. Who thought a broken nose would cause so much fuss?

After they've cleaned it out and re-packed it try not to sneeze, or if you do keep your eyes closed as nothing solid will be holding your eyeballs in place

Sounds really nasty mate but best of luck
