    Are people here religious?

I was wondering if us Hexus bods (and, probably, by extension most tech-type people around the world?) are a religious lot or not.
I won't comment much further as I dont want to sway decisions (or provoke ideas of right and wrong etc).
I have a general assumption of what i think we'll be like, but maybe i'm wrong.
    Just curious.
I'm commenting on an internet forum. Your facts hold no sway over me.

    Tough one.

I don't believe in religion in the traditional sense, but i do believe there is something "other" in the world. Call it "the force" or whatever you like, but i do think there is more than the physics, chemistry, biology and the other sciences that we currently know about.

I'd say that everyone on here finds religion at some point.

I often pray just before the first boot of a re-install... In fact I daily finding myself beseeching the Almighty for the patience not to shout at people.

's funny, but He never seems to answer... praps I'll try Buddism instead. Do they let carnivores in?

Edit: Atheist OR agnostic? Come on, there is a difference! Don't you dare lob me in with the too-scared-to-make-a-decision Agnostics!

Well, the poll's deffinatly going one way!

I'm pretty much decided that the bible is just a very good selling story book. Everything has an explanation IMO, physics has proved parts of the bible wrong. Just take the creationism theory for the origin of the universe (They still have to teach this at gcse level but pretty much tell you to forget it.....even the religious teachers)

When God made the garden of creation, he filled it full of his love... but even so, I am voting against him.

    Head over heart.

About 3 years since ( when i started uni ) i would have said i have a strong faith, then i started to think for myself and try to reason things out. I have an odd point of view that i would like to have a faith, but i find it hard to swallow at the moment so for now i'm trying to learn as much about the world as i can to make a decision later.

I'm a Christian, not afraid to admit it. I took the vows made for me at baptism & I think they help to guide me, so I would say I'm religious. I go to Church ocassionally (usually for Communion when I can) but am not as devout as, for instance, Catholics are.

It's funny, i've actually found a huge hole in my own poll options when I consider my own beliefs. I need to check options 2 and 4.
I consider myself Atheist, and whilst reading about it on wikipedia have come to realise that I have a very strong faith, but in Atheism. You could almost say it's become my religion! LOL!
This isn't a mocking statement though, as it really is a strong faith, and i wholeheartedly believe that having strong faith, it's very purpose, is to get us through hard times when life gets ****ty and we just have to get out heads down and get on with stuff. For some that's God(s), for me it's not. I think faith in something though is important, whether it's "the sun will rise in the morning" to "Tony Blair really will leave"...

Atheist, just dont believe there is an all powerful man living in the clouds, with the ability to create, destroy and manipulate anything at will, but does nothing, nor do i need an imaginary father figure to guide me through my life.

Not to mention, wars, killing, prejudice and hate all inspired by modern religion and it's respective followers complete ignorance of what they are following and delightful squirming when asked the most basic theological question.

I think theres probably some sort of being "up there" but I dont think he's a god. More of a little kid playing with a magnifying glass and an antfarm as Terry Pratchet would say.
    With love and many thanks,
