Yes, yes I do. Although his NHS is somewhat more attentive than yours or mine.

The lesson to be learned by all this is to avoid Newham General like the plague! I've not been there for a few years but I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Although to be fair it's not just the Hospital itself but a lot of the time the patients that use it too. For example it's the only hospital I know of that has guards on the Maternity wing. Not to stop people snatching the babies I add, but to stop the large proportion of "using" mothers from getting out to get high.

Stick to the others. The Royal for A&E. Hommerton for general care (great food here BTW) as it's a 3 star hospital. Whipps X has the second busiest A&E in the country and can be a bit grotty.

Personally I think Whipps is heading the same way as Newham even though it is a University Hospital. It was due to be made into a "Super" Hospital but the rumour is that ALL funding has been shelved.

If no one is willing to pay for their medical care, you get the NHS. With the NHS this is what you are likely to get in places like London.

Good to know you are OK. Hopefully you wont have to go to the hospital again.

Whipps Cross Hospital is completely and utterly broke.

Get over yourself. I've had my skull carved open twice and am also scarred for life. Lots of us have had medical problems.

blood pressure of 134/89 isn't particularly high. its only considered dangerous if a 24 hour average is more than 140/90, and whilst yours is closeish to that, its not much of an issue, so you don't really need to worry. i managed to hit 185/112 when i got hit by a car

    By whom??

I work in intensive care and we regularly drive patients blood pressure into the 160-180 bracket. My normal BP is more often than not 135-140/80-85. You have nothing to worry bout dude. Now if it was 160/100-120 then you should be worried.

worded that badly. i meant if your normal average is above that, over a 24 hour period (ie, if one 24 hours was high, it'd be ok, but if consistantly that high, they start putting you on beta blockers)

the nhs recon its 140/90. here -> http://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/articles...?ArticleID=203

I see what you are saying. Sorry for jumping down your throat. if your diastolic is constantly above 90 you should definetely be getting some sort of treatment.

This doesn't sound bad at all, you're complaining about petty things such as the porters arriving 50 minutes after they're called. You do realise people can't be stood by for every single minute watching over you like a guardian angel? There are other patients you do realise?

Oh there's an air bubble in your drip, do they pay someone to sit there and watch it tgo make sure none appear? If you're slating the nurses because of things like this then I think you are very out of hand - I know some nurses and the crap they have to go through to keep patients just semi-happy is unbelievable. In fact, my old flat mate has to treat kids who are terminally ill and watch people die everyday.

Sure, it may not be the best hospital, but everything you complained about seems just... well pathetic really.

The last time I was in hospital I was sat in the operating theatre with my sedative just being placed to my hand when my doctor walked in and told me he wasn't going to do it because of a facial piercing which he knew about beforehand (this was years ago, I don't have piercings anymore). I was at the hospital at 6am getting ready for the op, by 12 I was in the operating theatre and by 1pm I was storming out of there. Obviously where I'm from there is no NHS, but the NHS treatment I've had over here has been of excellent quality, even if the doctor I had speaks some unknown African language with such a strong accent that I can't understand him.

If you think this is "NHS hell" then I think you've got things very backwards - and I'm pretty sure people on this forum don't flame you because it's "a family forum". Now consider this. What if the NHS wasn't there? What if the government just didn't bother providing these services? Now think about what your health care would be like in a third world country.
