    I trained at George's as a doc. I refuse to go back, ever!

    Unlikely... (unless you're incredibly over-enthusiastic)
    Abscesses just need drainage, and draining a superficial abscess is not a specialised operation, you just need to make a large enough incision to ensure that all the pus will come out. You usually don't need antibiotics either, though in the case of a 10x3cm one it's a good idea.

    Depends if it is big and pussy and cellulitic really. Then again, I ain't no surgeon. Medic with brief a&e experience!

    Note, that since I posted that it happened twice again. I was in OVER christmas (Great waking up christmas morning surrounded by moany old people).

    I was operated on twice, and have about six/seven hefty scars FOR LIFE, and you are moaning about an Abcess, and calling it "NHS HELL"?

    Well i work in the new Atkinson Morley Wing. I actually started work at atkinson Morley hospital in Wimbledon until they closed it and we moved to Georges. Our wing is probably the nicest in the hospital.
