    British Gas

Not long after i moved at the begining of the year, i got a guy from British gas asking if i would like them to be my supplier , i agreed signed the contract and waited ..and waited. After a couple of weeks i rang the guy that had called and said i had not had confirmation from British gas and he said not to worry he would look into it .So i waited and waited .nothing .So after a couple more phone calls to him and it was either his day off or he was busy i heard nothing. So i thought they want my custom i will now leave it to them to contact me . Well this morning aprrox 6 months later i get a letter saying an engineer is coming to check the meter tommorrow ready for my change over to British gas .As you can understand after waiting 6 months i no longer want them if thats their standard of service,so whats the best way to tackle them now?

Sign up with a decent supplier?

Bristish gas costomer service are a buch of complete muppets. Their gas is overpriced as well.

I and a number of people I know have had all sorts of problems with them. I suggest you head over to uswitch and find a better supplier

if your contract was agreed and signed 6 months ago - and you've just got a letter about the change over. I suspect you have grounds to cancel.

The only problem could be if you agreed to change over at a specific date or if you agreed to chance over at the end of your billing period which happens to be in 6 months (unlikley as its quaterly at worse normally)
    It is Inevitable.....

Weird. If the agreement has for some reason just gone through, you'll have the cooling off period (may be 7 days) to cancel. Ring them about it.

Found the original letter confirming my supply to start with them on the 23rd of May , after several phone calls got fed up of chasing them about it , so my guess is i am going to tell them what to do with their contract !!!!!
