I was seriously asking a question... so he has actually given an interview to a national newspaper saying hes not done the crime before hes even been accused by the police?
Minority report-style technology now available from the Sunday Mirror then?
I think he gave the press interview after being interviewed by the police (four times, apparently - whether that was under caution or not I don't know.. my info came from Sky News who showed the Mirror front page alongside the story).
I suppose as he wasn't under arrest and hadn't been charged with anything then he was able to give an interview without any constraints - however, if he is subsequently charged then it may be a complication - I'm not a legal eagle but I believe this sort of thing can affect the process...
Anyway, he's been arrested specifically on the charge of being suspected of killing all five girls now (after the press interview) so hopefully they've got the right man..
Coming from Ipswich i'd like to dissasociate myself from the types of people they interview from Ipswich on the national news.
To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.
They keep showing his myspace page on sky news, but i cant find it on myspace. Aparently he is called "The Bishop".
i saw tom on his friends list and thaught "that pics familiar!"
durrrrrrr

I dont like the tone of this thread.
He has been arrested "on suspicion of"
The police definition is "30% or greater change of guilt"
By all means condemn him as guilty if he's found guilty in court, but he could just be unlucky.
"In a perfect world... spammers would get caught, go to jail, and share a cell with many men who have enlarged their penises, taken Viagra and are looking for a new relationship."
where on earth did you get that definition from?
"on suspicion of" doesn't really mean anything at all
anybody who is arrested for anything is arrested because there are reasonable grounds to suspect he/she has committed an offence....I could just imagine detention being refused at a police station because the custody sergeant thought "hmmm....only 29% likely to be convicted....lets release him"
I am not saying that it makes any difference to whether this man should be condemned on not, but please, don't post legal "facts" that are not backed up!
edit.....sorry....I am a bit on my high horse...nothing personal........

Toss up between a geek who's seeking attention and a wacko. Who knows what the murderer of 5 women is thinking. Press coverage on tele abyssmal though. 'News' trying to outdo Noel on Deal or no deal with mindless hype drivel.
Thinking the same thing right now. Don't like the way that anyone who's been following these events (i.e. anyone in the UK) now knows the name of this guy. If he's subsequently found not to be the man responsible for all this, what are his chances of having any sort of a life after being released from police custody??Innocent until proven guilty in my book.
The world and his dog now have the guy's name and picture, and god only knows there are a million and one idiots out there who reckon that even if it's proven to be someone else, they should still kick the matsu****a out of him just for being tied to this.
