Think I had about 22 lessons and passed first time, can't remember how many minors but it wasn't many. They'd just brought the theory test in when I took my test and it was ridiculously easy(got 34 out of 35 I think), these days it's meant to be a bit more challenging.

My Dad started taking me out in my own car (Nova 1.2L, great little car btw ) on weekends for practice and scared the living daylights out of me by taking me around London once I was a bit more proficient(i.e. not stalling all the time). Was good experience though, I'm not bothered driving anywhere, anytime these days, thanks dad .

I went to Uni in Hull and stayed off campus where we had a nice big car park, but in all honesty I didn't NEED car. Was nice to have though because I could go home at the weekends when I wanted without having to get the train which took forever. Plus you can get down to the supermarkets but these days it's easy to do it online and get it delivered.

I had 19 lessons at 45 minutes a shot. Passed first time. I got told off for using clutch control too much when I should have perhaps used the handbrake, but apart from that I was fine.

I did the rest of the lesson, but I knew I'd failed about 10 seconds after getting the car moving
Nasty! I was talking to my instructor and one of his pupils had failed the test before leaving the centre. They didn't stop at a stop sign, they just treated it as give way! eek. They got I think it was 3 minors apart from that.
