Haven't you seen the photos on Engadget? It's all bright and shiny!
Except, it's not just a phone...
It's an iPod too. And an excellent contendor for a PDA, and it runs OS X.
Find me another phone that does that
It looks nice. I mean...lush. OSX on a phone? Yummy!
Definitly. If the user has access to OSX for homebrew software that would be very cool.Originally Posted by kempez

That's nearly sorted, apparently.

I've been looking for a DECENT phone, MP3 player and camera for ages, and the recent sony range almost swayed me, but I still want one with a full querty keyboard. Something like the Nokia 9500 (which I've got) but thinner, and weighing less than a fully grown African Elephant.
The iPhone looks nice, and it's sure to sell by the truckload. Did anyone see the video of the unveiling? I got the feeling there were a few Apple fanbodies in the audience...

I bet it'll be bloody expensive Won't catch me buying one any time soon. It doesn't do anything new or special

OS X no...I doubt it. Firmware that 'looks' like OS X, as in how the iPods work - yes, an OS specific to the functions of this device. Seriously, why would you want to run OS X on a mobile phone? Going to be running Photoshop C2/C3 anytime soon?
Seems like they have gone with Cingular in the US, so for EU launch expect it to be locked. In '08 we get to see if the Asian version is unlocked. No idea on standby time, and 5hrs talk time a bit crap.
Gonna wait for the 'next gen' of the iPhone, so circa 2010
I dunno I know Apple are prone to saying stuff that may not be entirely true but saying OSX is on there when it's not would be a bit cheeky
I'm sure that upon the unveiling lots of iAudi iTT's iSwerved off the iRoad and their iCappachino frappachino double latte expresso mochachino iPubic-hairo were spilled on their iDesigner iShirts and iTrousers burning their iBalls and they let out an iTear in iPain then had an iCamp iTantrum and then iAngrily looked around and asked everyone what theiFlip they were iLooking at.

Hah. Well, even if it's a scaled down version of OS X and they call it 'OS X' it won't be legally wrong...it's just misdirection and Apple have been known to do this quite often.
Not to mention, a basic install of OS X takes over 3-4GB with all applications...ignore the applications and the base install still takes a lot of space...so I don't see how you can still call it 'OS X' - as far as I'm concerned, it'll be target specific firmware, with some form of SU.
