    8800gtx

    Thinking of grabbing a 8800GTX, because i can't wait for R600, i want a new video card.

Now im sure my PSU is good enough. The rest of my PC is pretty fast, i want a Core 2 Duo, but i don't wanna drop a load of money on one now, when price drops are expected, so i think ill wait for the 2nd gen one's.

Dunno which brand to get, does it matter? just get the cheapest i suppose. I play my games at 1600x1200 and the X1800XT is getting a bit slow, and Supreme Commander struggles at 1280, and there's C&C 3 and Stalker very soon.

The 8800GTX seems the best choice, otherwise i wait for 8900 or a R600, i really didn't want Nvida, but ive got less choice now, grrrr.

    Smokey, buddy, please chill

You've been here long enough to know that we will not have language like that, especially when the other person hasn’t provoked it.
Go and grab a coffee, come back and relax

Your PSU might just be about enough to run a 8800GTX, probably best to get it, see if it is running ok, if not buy a new psu. No point spending more out when u dont know if u need it yet.

As far as brands go, it makes no difference whatsoever unless it has a custom cooler as all the rest are sticking to reference designs and are identical apart from the sticker on the top and any factory overclocks.

Go for the cheapest unless there is something bundled into the package that is worth having for the price diffeerence.
