    new card

    Thinking of upgrading my 8800 gts 512mb g92 core for a BFG 896MB GTX 260 OC PCI-E 2.0 (x16) Mem 1998MHz GPU 590MHz 192 Cores from advance tech.... obviouse reasons why i want to get from there lol.... but im wondering if the 192 core is the old 260 card? and would i see much of a eprformance boost? and id be able to get it for around £130

    whats your thoughts

    Performance boost yes you will, the 192 cores is the older model, the newer model has 216 cores see this review on Hexus for a performance comparison http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=15464
    Only you can decide if the extra performance of a couple of frames a second in most cases is worth the extra cash to you, the Hexus bang for buck would suggest it probably isn't, but hey its your £75 voucher .

    I would have thought the difference would be very small and apart from bench marks you will see very little difference. If its around the same price go for it but more than >£20 I'd stick with the standard 192.

    280 can still be picked up for £240 ish on scans today only
