    Media PC LCD TV Resolution

    Hi

Please can someone explain how to set the optimum viewing mode for a LCD TV to a PC. I currently have a 17" LCD connected in the study but am planning on building a HTPC so am just trying to see if I can view the Internet from my sofa.

I have just connected the 37" LCD HDTV to the PC (via dvi). When i first connected the LCD it wanted to stay in the 17" LCD mode of 1280x1024. After clicking on Detected Displays, NView has appeared and I have ticked treat digital display as HDTV and can specify the HD mode under device settings, is this the right way to go about it?

I have selected 720p mode and used underscan and it seems to appear ok with large font and clear type etc, the resolution is now showing as 1176x664 is this the recommended way of doing it ? I am using a 6600GT with DVI output to connect to the TV

The TV also does 1080i but I can't get it to switch to that. PC has Win XP SP3 installed

Re: Media PC LCD TV Resolution

What model of TV is it?

The manufacturer should list the natice resolution for that model on their website.

At 37" it could be FullHD of 1920x1080, 1366 x 768 or similar

Re: Media PC LCD TV Resolution

    Found it
    http://www.myerae.com/english/product_ELT3220AP.htm

    It's not a 37", 32" my mistake. It seems 1366 x 768 is the resolution. How do I set this ?

1280x720p with underscan - 1176x664 looks ok to be honest. Is that the best option for my TV? Or should I go with 1280x1024 or 1366x768? - I just tried 1080i and that looked horrible

Re: Media PC LCD TV Resolution

You should set it to 1366*768 that is the actual number of pixels so will give you the sharpest most accurate picture. Any other resolution your TV will need to start interpolating the colour of pixels which can go terribly wrong!
