Geforce 1XX series?? Paper release?

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone had ever actually seen any geforce 1xx series cards? Looking at the specs, they looks pretty solid, and I guess would be cheaper that the 2xx series cards, however, I can't actually see any anywhere.

I've heard they were OEM only, but even then some usually slip through the net onto ebay. However, I can't even find a pre-built system containing one!

Anyone see any? I'm not actually interested in getting one, was just wondering if an entire series of cards was a paper launch only by Nvidia (although of course, they were "launched" after the 2xx series, so was never really a series in its own right)!

the G100 series was only ever an OEM-targetted rebadging exercise anyway AFAIK - I believe they were otherwise identical to the 9400GT and 9500GT cards. I know there was talk of a rebadge of the 9800GT to a GTS240 that never happened either.

The new G210 and GT220 are at least new core designs rather than rebadges...
