    Which 24" Monitor?

    Hi,

I'm getting a monitor for Christmas, and I was planning on getting it after Christmas, then I realised VAT goes back up, so now seems like the time to do it.

    I want a 24" monitor, was originally going to get a 1920 x 1080 screen, but now I've found a 1920 x 1200 screen which seems better.

Uses will be web browsing and a bit of design and some light gaming (HL2 and stuff).

I've currently narrowed it down from 50 or something to these 4, although I'm still open to reccomendations.

My initial budget was £220, but under £200 would be good as you can see. DVI is a must, additional VGA or a HDMI is a plus point. Not really bothered about audio or USB. Needs to be black

So, is my choice of the LG W2452TX-PF the right one?

Can only find the LG W2452TX on other websites for £20 more, but as far as I can see, the specs are the same and google doesn't help. Is there anything missing from the PF?

I can't speak for the other models, and I know C5th has found some amazing bargains in the 1900x1200 range. I have the LG W2343 19200x1080, and it represents superb value with a great image. I can recommend LG TN panels, having seen them side by side to the Samsung I can honestly say I prefer the LG.
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

    That's helpful, thanks.

Any idea where these bargains are?

Well, the LG W2452TX-PF has been orderd, along with a DVI Cable from Scan

Picked and dispatched within an hour, with some luck (and no snow) it will be here tomorrow.

Although the Scan website says the Citylink service in Liverpool is affected by the weather

    Re: Which 24" Monitor?

Does it need to be 24"?

Dell do an E-IPS screen at around £200, but it's 22".

2209WA from memory. Can't check. now - gotta go out.

If it doesn't need to be bigger, then forget I said that.

EDIT - Just noticed you've ordered, so forget it anyway.

    Re: Which 24" Monitor?

I did consider that, but I already have a 22" and fancied an upgrade. I know an E-IPS would be an upgrade, but I wanted more real estate.

Thanks for the suggestion though, it's a nice monitor.
