People want things like the PhysX effects in Batman and Dark Void. (or even AA in Batman)

Let's say a GTX360 and HD5870 cost the same and perform pretty much the same. Which would you buy? The one with the 3d Vision, 3d Vision Surround, "Eye Finity", Physx, better multi GPU drivrs, and CUDA? Or the one with Eyefinity?

Tough choice, isn't it? ATi prices are going to dump, consumers willing to give up the extras will save.

    Nostradamus Rollo has foreseen this.
How much margin with nVidia have on their large die parts compared to ATi's efficient parts? Isn't it just going to be the case that nVidia might have a faster card, but at a much larger cost to produce, not to mention heat and power problems.

And don't you find nVidia's actions wrt Batman quite despicable?

This also what I'd like to see. I don't want to see more rebadging though. Although a GTX275 rebadged as a GTX375 on a 40nm process costing sub £100 would be nice

This is my hope also, doesn't need to be faster, but equal the 5770 on performance and power and hopefully a better stock cooler
Heck slap a gts250 stock cooler on it they are still lovely coolers.
I really don't like these "intel stock cpu cooler" slaped on a graphics card coolers, the rev1 5770 cooler was a better thought out cooler just a shame they made the fin area so small it had to be replaced.

yeah, to both points, But how about using a sane nameing scheme, nvidia did it fairly well with the 6 and 7 series.
    How about G3x0 = base version, GT3x0 = improved version, GS3x0 = reduced version, GR3x0 = rebadged version

Not really; for me it have to be the better power consumer tbh.

Anyway at this rate the the GTX360 is going to be at best a die shrunk GTX260 if we're lucky.

I'm really looking forward to see what is coming up when it finally arrives; worried we're going to see an uncompetitively priced power guzzling cuda cluster .

Why do you care about the pennies worth of power video cards use?

No comment on the rest, NDA for now. You'll get a bunch more info tomorrow at 9PM PST.

    Re: CES report, NVIDIA oriented

Because it saves on powerusage eventually, reduces need for a more powerful psu, the psu can last longer as theres less load on it, people try and save as much energy as possible simply because fuel is running out... no matter how much it costs it will eventually run out so saving now =last longer .

Isnt the gtx3 series using like 800bit bus and gddr5 along with 2gb ram ? Those are EXTREMELY high costs for manufactoring, wont this come out at like £1000 and perform like 1/3 better than the 5970?

Yes Snooty, discussing computer hardware on forums is one of my hobbies, like it's apparently one of yours.

People should take what I say seriously, because I never lie and I have info they don't. Whether they do or not is up to them. It's no concern of mine.
