    Re: New 24inch monitor decisions

Sorry to hijack this thread, but I was considering purchasing a 24" monitor as well and just wondered... what would you guys go for out of 2x 20" Widescreens (Dell 2007WFP, the S/IPS one) or a 24" TN screen?

    Cheers! (sorry OP!)

That depends on how you work and what you do.

If it's photography there are merits in having 2 screens. A basic example being one for Bridge, one for Photoshop. Another is to have all your Photoshop palettes on one screen while the image you're working on is displayed full-screen on the other. Clearly the IPS panel is far superior to the TN panel too.

If it's gaming, then I've no idea how well modern games work on dual monitors, but a TN panel wouldn't be an issue for gaming.

General use you can only work out for yourself. I do find it annoying on dual-monitors when I find the mouse disappearing off 1 screen onto the other - my instinct is that if I want the cursor near the edge, I'll zap it over there and there's a nice border to stop it going any further - that doesn't exist with dual-monitors, so I find myself at a random location on the screen I don't even want to be on. Clearly you'll adapt as you use it more and more, but it is off-putting at first.
