Why is he a fan boy everyone? nvidia have let him down, they've lost his trust. Give him a break, why are people so damn quick these days to shout fan boy at anybody who insults any hardware manufacturer who's in competition with another?
The lad is entitled to his opinion as am i and everybody else, he's not forcing it on anybody he's just voicing it on a forum that was created for that specific purpose along with others. When you buy a product and there're defects or the customer support wasn't what you expected it tends to influence your next buy and you tend to look elsewhere.
For anyone with common sense and who does't lie purely to prove somebody else wrong you don't just buy a product because it's the best you buy from a manufacturer that you've dealt with before, have done successfully, were pleased with the service and continued support they gave you and one that has a proven track record and i'm not at all suggesting that that manufacturer is ATi, but it isn't nvidia not as they stand they have seriously tarnished that record over the past year when they should of stood up and admitted defeat they lied and decieved customers and most probably OEMs aswell.
Be my guest and close the thread, but that needed to be said because certain people are just repeating what others have said before and it's just getting stupid, what, do you lot share a f-ing brain cell.
I will, as always, wait until there are plenty of reviews floating around, of the final vesions of both the Nvidia 6800Ultra and the ATi X800XT, then decide based on those which is the card for me, and then buy it.
Very simple, always works, and no need for tiresome arguments on internet forums or fan boy accusations.
i realy think its about time everybody grew up about graphics cards including ATI and Nvidia themselves. sniping should stop and they should work together to find a fast solution for all. instead of all the ATI people looking for an excuse to slag off Nvidia's new card. lets not forget. that the R9800xt is a retail card. the geforce 6800 ultra is still in development and so are the drivers. so we all need to stop sniping and grow up.
I always use NVIDIA graphics cards because when I tried an ATI one, all the pixels went massive and blobby and most of the colours fell off and when I looked inside display settings the maximum I could get was 800/600, ATI drivers are really crap. NVIDIA rules
I think all these sites like driverheaven should be shut down , they breed "fanboys" and pour out masses of useless information - I think most consumers like me will just read the odd review and go for a card with best price/performance ratio.
Though I do think it's a shame about these "MX" family cards that poor innocent poorly informed people seem to end up with
They do tend to be a breeding ground for fanboys but the information they sometimes generate, which some of us conceive to be significant or interesting (the latter for me, but I may well be in the minority, I don't know) - such as in a situation like this, even with the accusation of bias/usefulness of it. Yes, the fanboys are a problem, but let's face it, they're not that hard to ignore.Originally Posted by bertie
