    I don't like it, $50 more than a double slot, pushes heat back in the case, the card is really long too.

    no sli connector ether.

    I can see the need for a longer pcb to cope with the heat, remember all that copper carries heat as well as current so the pcb itself acts as a heat sink.

    And the heat from a single slot cooler has to go into the case as there's not space on the back to vent out of the case unless you remove the output connectors.

    Yes but where are the real advantages for $50 more?

    HTPCs?

    They're not really aimed at those with huge towers with a zillion PCIe slots, they're aimed at mITX cases with a single PCIe slot... and I suppose the tiny market where larger motherboards have been designed by idiots and have 2 PCIe slots next to each other.
