Sensible sized TV to use as monitor

I'm currently using a 26" Samsung as both TV and monitor, but the TV is four years old now, and I'm thinking it's time for an upgrade. I'm using a Radeon 5700 series (no more specific than that), which I'd prefer not to have to upgrade. I want to go 1080p on the TV side, so I'm asking if it makes any difference if I go for 32" or 40", as far as the graphics card goes. Surely going 1080p will mean that a bigger physical screen will just mean bigger pixels, so I'll get more bang for my buck with a 32" screen? The bloke in me wants 42", but I'll obviously save by going a bit smaller.

If you're getting a native 1080p then it really doesn't matter. As you say, the only difference will be the size of the actual pixels - and the graphics card won't care about that. So really it's all down to how much epeen you want

I've been using a 37" Panasonic HDTV as my monitor / tv for the past 3 years. Imo anything over 40" is overkill. Also depends how close you are sitting to the screen.

40" at 1080p is bliss for gaming, do it.
