They also do proper apples to apples test on same exact game settings and res to see whats going oin
HOCP and Canucks are all great, but the tests are what drew me to Hexus, and I'm rather fond of the 'Trusty Table'. My perfect test would be some amalgam of Hexus/Hard/Canuck.

Perhaps I misread it phAge. It just seemed by-and-large they were roughly equal.

GTX 680 is also draws less power.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"

for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Hexus don't have the same sort of resources so benchmark choice isn't so good, but they score highly with me in the user interaction in giving us additional details and performing more tests etc. on request.
    ^^This pretty much.
I also heavily weight commentary from those forum members whose advice I have seen to be correct many times.

whatever average fps HOCP show on there test, 9/10 its the same values i see on identical hardware. when they did 480gtx benchmarks, my fps was exactly same as there's!

Also, BF3 is very VRAM intensive as widely said by many across the web

It seem HardOCP may not get their hardware from Nvidia:

    http://hardforum.com/showpost.php?p=...&postcount=127

They are not under NDA from Nvidia and hence do not need to follow Nvidia guidelines.

Some interesting comments about the performance:

But surely the third link is just "come to our site, only we have the correct review"?

As i said, its all very exciting
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."

I am thinking this is what you will see out of us.

    Stock clocks - some 1080p - 2560 - 5760

    then - SLI

then OCed cards head to head

As you will see on launch day, there are some things making comparisons a little less black and white. And quite frankly, people relying on canned and synthetic benchmarks are ****ED in having a true analysis. And it is just going to get harder to evaluate properly. Brent and I are on top of it and will be making the investments going forward to make HardOCP the best GPU site in the world.

That is why they are my favourite gpu reiew website. O and nowhere in the links you provided says that they do not get there cards from nvidia! they said they did not SIGN a NDA with nvidia or ar eusing nvidia's review guide

I do not have the NVIDIA Review Guide. I have not signed an NDA, and did not attend the Reviewers' Day, but I do have a "Gentlemen's Agreement" to not expose information that I have gleaned from NVIDIA directly.

Pretty annoyed this year seems to be the year graphics card manufacturers held back tech and milked the market for all they could.

7900 series with huge amounts of overclocking headroom.....mid-range NV cards marketed as upper-range.......yet both at top-tier prices.

Did they sign a treaty/pact we didn't know about?

Well there's kind of no incentive for people to go and replace cards anyway (we're in-between console releases really - no new PC games that will go best with these cards), yields could be low/expensive, and both companies need to improve their bottom lines.

I have a feeling that the Turbo Boost might be temporary and the Nvidia surround optimisations may boost benchmark scores. We will soon find out(hopefully).

Wouldn't help unfortunately - my premise is there's a lack of demand caused by PC gamers not spending very much money on games compared to console gamers The money for PC games is found in 2d flash based thingies, which hardly drive discrete GPU purchases. Intel getting into on-chip GPU is actually a good thing - if they and AMD push the standard so that *every* PC has a 3d capable GPU then there's a larger customer base for games devs to target. If there's enough there, then they're more likely to spend the additional outlay on halo effect ultra settings those of us with discrete cards can enjoy.

for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Oh I'm defintely not saying that the on-board GPUs are a bad thing. On the contrary, Llano and the new IGPs are already creating some interest. I get asked about games now by the kids and their mates far more often. The problem is, they don't have any money !

I would just like to see Intel bring it's expertise to bear, break the duopoly and bring something new to the market. If any company can do it, it's Intel.
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.
