Thanks for the Road-map info Cat-the-fifth! Just helped reassure me that the 1280 MB EVGA GTX 560 ti 448 Classified is the card im going to get, especially if its not going to be replaced until far later in the year

Maybe a poor choice of words, i meant that the normal power efficiency that AMD has come to provide in comparison to Nvidia would drop further, its already very close to the 680 so overclocking further would bump it nearer 580 power levels, as long as it stays below the 580 power ratings its fine in my book though!.

I think I also worded it badly.

I meant I'm optimistic as even early batches are managing that; properly binned, later batches should be even better.

No-one's claiming it is are they? The 680 demo was lower resolution, didn't use MSAA, and was on an engine with several months more optimisation

It does seem that 28NM wafers are relatively expensive,and the smaller dies have been negated by the cost increases. It also seems that both 20NM and 14NM will cost even more than 28NM.

Regarding the Core Boost function,is it a fixed function,ie,all cards can boost to a maximum preset limit,or is variable from card to card,ie,dependent on the individual GPU?? Anyone know??

While i don't have an answer for you, it *seems* BIOS can't be re-flashed over as they're digitally signed off - with EVGA being the ones with special treatment ATM.
