    3D Mark 2005 - Coming!

    Yep 3D Mark 2005 is coming!

    Sorry if this has been posted before but i could not see one.

    3DMark05 Minimum System Recommendations/Requirements:

    * DirectX 9 compatible graphics adapter with support for Pixel Shader 2.0 or later, and graphics memory of 128 MB or above.
    * x86 compatible processor with SSE support, 2GHz or above
    * 512 MB system memory or more.
    * 1.5 GB of free hard disk space.
    * Windows 2000 or XP operating system with the latest Service Packs and updates installed.
    * DirectX 9.0c runtime installed with the latest updates.
    * Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 installed, for some 3DMark functionality.
    * Microsoft Excel 2000, 2003 or XP, for some 3DMark05 Pro functionality.
    * Microsoft DirectX 9 Summer Update 2004 System Development Kit is required to run the image quality test using the reference rasterizer (3DMark05 Pro).

    Yeah - They seem to be doing one every two years now and then the PCMarks every other

    The requirements are high as usual but they allways are

    G4 PowerMac - Tiger 10.4 - 512MB RAM
    MacBook - 2Ghz - 1GB RAM - 120GB HDD

    Just when I was getting decent framerates in the Mother Nature test, look what they go and do

    As long as the benchmarks and demo are decent... like in 01, 3dmark03 was just boring...

    Yes its always the same just as people are starting to get great 2003 Scores everyone get knocked back with 2005

    Anyway i like the look of it so far! Will be interested to see the demos of this but i know its going to kill my 9700Pro

    Wehey i have just installed it and run it Wow that gun on the first test is the bomb
    did not score very well though 2221 and the cpu test was about 1.9 fps
    i will have to close some background apps next time

    I think you should run it without background apps as thats a bit low!

    With my 9700pro and only the 2003 score is with cpu & graphics card overclocked to max I have not pushed it with 2005 yet!

    2x 160gig Maxtors in Raid 0
    Saphire 9700Pro 128mb clocked at 371 / 337 (Can go a higher but thats what it was benched at)

    The latest 4.9 catalyst
    The funny thing is when i use the on line browser it says my settings are not default or the driver is not recognised i have reinstalled it twice its the one with the catalyst control centre
