    Dead pixels

Ok so i've had my TFT for about 2 months and it has worked perfect, no dead pixels, no problems.

Today i was using hammer and when i was compiling a map one of the brush lines stayed where it is when i scrolled off. Then i closed the app, it was still there, then i restarted, it was still there and now it's just there.

It's a green line, 1 pixel thick in the centre of the screen from the very bottom up to the centre. They're dead pixels alright 'cause i've changed resolutions and they're in the same place. Anyone know how this could've happened? It's really odd for about 100 pixels to die in one go i thought.

Anyway, it looks like an RMA btw, the TFT is a Hyundai Imagequest Q17+ (12ms response time) :X

I can only think of something like a power surge...it's a really odd issue. Have you taken it out of the mains for 10-15 minutes and then plugged it back in?

No, the pixels are dead. Restarting and shutting down won't help.

Also, it's power surge protected so that can't be the reason.

    Oer - that is odd

Is it properly surge protected (ie conditioned) or just a cheap surge board?

Surge protected extension cable which should do the job just fine. I've e-mailed the UK hyundai headquarters but i need this problem to be fixed within 3 weeks time as i'm due to be out of the UK for three weeks.

Since you have lost a complete line of pixels, all the same colour, I doubt it is dead pixels in the normal sense and probably a power supply issue to that specific row.

Pixels which are 'not working' default to light, since they are dark when power is applied and they block out the back light.

    Its RMA time...

The pixels are bright green in a row.
