Lucky you, shame Scan don't come around these parts any more and do something similar for the members
I'm just bitter....

Out of interest what happened to order queues, back in the day I would put a pre-order for things and if early enough it went out first shipment if not they went out second, third etc.
Now surely if they did that now we would all have more chance and also there would be more time to identify bots/scalpers.
So back to plan A for me, keep an eye out for 3060/3060ti/3070 founders cards.
I will say tracking the 6600/6600xt they seem to be slowly coming down in price at retailers, I don't mind paying a little of rrp with a retailer as I still get a warranty etc, I will only buy from a scalper if significantly below rrp.
I am also not against getting another vega 56 or 64 if the price is right as they may be one of the first kicked out of mining rigs as etherium tanks.
Hey just make sure you have the alerts setup for FE drops on scan and your payment info saved, might not seem like it but it'll help. I really wish everyone looking for a GPU gets them
How do you set that up? Can't see anything in their site?
It's not on their site, you need to get on Discord/Telegram etc for the alerts, they then link to the nvidia page when they have stock or directly to the item itself on the Scan website, I managed to get my 3060Ti-FE when they launched in December 20' and then a friend managed to get me a 3080FE mid last year.
Well I was building him a PC for one of his kids, so my 3060Ti went into that for £300 (although he gave me £350 as I was building the PC for him and he was aware of what the market was like), he bought me the 3080 which went into my rig to replace the 3060Ti, wins all round, well, apart from the fact I felt dirty for doing a full RGB build in a big white 4000D, tidying cables from all of the bloody RGB hubs and stuff was rather annoying, luckily the rear side panel is solid so you cant see the rats nest lol...
I am on discord with a couple of notifications groups so I will keep trying. Eventually something will work out and I am lucky I still have a reasonable working gpu.
Funny I built a PC for friend just before it all went crazy and I remember getting a 5600xt for £215 on a black friday deal, I wish a bought 10 of them as literally a month later they where selling for £500+

OcUK had the RTX3050 for £240 at 4.30pm yesterday for forum members.
I got one too
Okay, £240 for a x50 x500 wouldn't be great in ordinary times, but we are currently in interesting times
I had just recently bought a 4GB 470 used but this is almost twice as fast. Of course, had I been psychic last year I would have got one of the 6600XT at intro when Gibbo had some MSRP deals on them but far too late for that now.
Mining must be almost dead now, but the market may take ages to get anywhere near to back to normal.
Makes you wonder though, if AMD's and Nvidia's great feared event happens (and I think Nvidia fear this more than AMD) and miners start offloading like the last time (anyone remember those 570s for £75 used on ebay etc.), what will happen?
If costs have really risen (and I have no doubt costs have risen - just not as much as the manufactures claim), where does this leave the GPU market in '22 or '23? AMD we already know *could* allocate tons more wafers to CPUs even if margins (but not overall profits) would suffer. But Nvidia? They have to plough on.

I really want another dGPU to upgrade my GTX960 based rig,but even £240 was a bit too much. An RX6500XT might have been fine, but it would need to be under £140 for me to even consider it.
With Fallout 4 and Skyrim performance should improve because of the DX11 driver optimisations Nvidia has. I mentioned to you in the other thread it might be worth doing that drawcalls test on our systems to get an idea of CPU and dGPU performance between vendors.
Also TBF,the RTX3050 is based on the 106 series die,not a 107 series die which the previous generations from Pascal tended to be in the first batch of releases. GTX1650 Super was a larger die,but was a refresh range release.
Okay, an excuse to actually install FO4 at least I don't have any mods to worry about. I suspect that once demand for mobile 107 parts has been met, Nvidia will do a 3050 based on that. Since they didn't call this one 3050 Ti, unsure where they will slot it though. A 3040 might be first though.
