by the way, to those that have a widescreen panel what happens when you try and play a game that won't run in widescreen? does it just give you black borders or try and stretch the image?

I don't actually know the answer to this;

my 23" screen with 7800GTX stretches it to fill the screen.
my 13" laptop with 6200 Go 128mb leaves black stripes down sides..

There are very few games that totally refuse to run in a native widescreen res. Just because the res is not shown in the options, does not mean the game cannot be forced to run in a widescreen res via a small alteration to the shortcut.

hmm, i think i'm just gonna wait a bit. so very tempting at that price but i'm sure they'll have them for less sometime soon. i wonder if anybody actually buys them at full price? i certainly wouldn't be happy if i'd paid full price for them and then saw them that much cheaper a week later...

You really can't go wrong with the Dell 24" for the price compared to other similar sized models.

I bought the 2005fpw about 4 months ago at £398 and thought it was a bargain then. Great screen, black bezel model and I love it. Have not found a game yet that can't be changed to widescreen resolutions. If prices continue to fall then it just becomes a better bargain. Surfing and DVDs - it just gobbles 'em up.
