But as they did this deal last week I doubt they'll do it again (email themanwhocan @ scan.co.uk if you wish to request an addition to the Today Only list - I did!!).

Been a lot of years since I bought from Scan (since I built my last PC in fact!) but they do get a good rep for customer service and listening to what people want so you never know!!!

Being fair there's a lot of the Scan guys on the Forums so if any of you spot this then PLEEEEEEEEAAAAASE do that deal again? Take my money! Please! It's here in a big pile of twenties?!?

I didn't want to say too much at the time about Belinea monitors as I wasn't sure if it was just me being biased or whatnot....what I've got to say applied only to CRTs that I've worked with, but at a school's IT department where I used to work, they had bought approx 150 Belinea monitors. At least a third of those were chucked within a year. All either totally fubared, blurry, or unusable in one respect or another.
I thought that Belinea might have tightened up on their QC by now, but it appears maybe that's not the case.

Well, sounds like i made the right choice at the end of the day - glad this ground work was good for something!!!

And having read the Scan forum here folks, if anyone wants the 2405 monitor for 499 again then **please mail the request to the Scan address above**

David confirmed that apparently they really do base the Today Only items on what is most requested, which is a fantastic bit of customer service!

Good on them, and get emailing folks.

Syd, might be worth you adding your name to that one

Well, it wasn't on today so one more day to go...I reckon if I started a topic called 'anyone want a new Dell 2405 for about 500 quid?' There might be more interest! But its just plain cheatin'

Guess if not its ITC for me!

Heh, only if I can get a 2005FPW dirt cheap. Trying to get my new Fatal1ty board stable at default settings at present. Guess I need to reinstall XP from scratch

OK OK OK OK, I know that it is eBay and all that, but what do you think of this deal from "The Dell Man"?

He has 6 x 2005FPW for £325 inc VAT plus delivery of £14.95.

Says he offers 7 day money back guarantee on the screen and it comes with a Dell 3 year next day replacement warranty.

    What do you all think?

    Hmmm, howdy!

Well, not bad I'll grant you!

I assume they are refurbs which have been fixed because they had backlight bleed or something like that?

As long as the guarantee stands, I'd be happy with that. Anyone know what the deal is with warranties on refurbished units?

ITCSales are expecting stock soon at £339 I think so that's another option if you can wait another week? They don't have a concrete date though

I'm holding out for that Scan offer at least until ITCSales get stock of the 2405!

    ***STOP PRESS****
ITC Sales have confirmed on the phone that they are getting the 2405FPW for £509 exc VAT + £12.95 shipping = £613.29

    So, choices appear to be:

2005FPW @ £339.95 inc VAT & Del from ITC Sales or eBay
2405FPW @ £613.29 inc VAT & Del from ITC Sales

So ITC has broken the £600 barrier on the 2405?! Grrrr, that was my threshold!

I liked the 598 price better

    Come on Scan! Help!

Think if I were u Ginger and were considering the 20", I'd go for ITC - they're more likely to have replacement stock should something happen that you'd want to put through them rather than Dell.

Like the monitor that turns up being a duffer, for example

    Another update for you all!

I have received an e-mail from "The Dell Man":
Hi Giner, They are all in Dell direct supplied boxes and we do not check any of them we have 500 monitors in a month and it would take that long to open every box and do it, I have sold over 2000 in the last year and only had about three reports of pixel faults 1 or 2 pixels and the customer are still using them without any discomfort.

If you request a test on the monitors when you decide to purchase we will do it, but Dell or I or any other seller of TFT LCD Monitors canot give you a 100% guarantee that pixel/s will not appear with future use, but with the technoligy of today TFT screens not many get them.

    Regards,

    The Dell Man

    Sounds impressive and they offer:
    - 7 day money back guarantee under distance selling law

    - 3 year warranty with Dell

Even more impressive? They also have the 2405 on their website!
