If any of you are worrying about GPU temperatures don't worry.
I got a 6800GT today, fitted it with a Zalman VF700Cu and forgot to plug the fan in on it.
I carried onto play Battlefield 2 and Call Of Duty 2 no high settings, all was well for around half an hour but after this it got a bit stuttery. No artifacts or anything though.
I just put it down my settings too high so carried on for another hour.
Then played BF2 and the same thing happened but carried on for another hour.
Then I opened the control panel and it was at 135 degrees which was a bit of a damn surprise.
Now plugged the fan in again and its back down to 55 and working fine.
Thought it would have broken it at those temperatures, when I touched the heatsink it actually burnt me with a mark.
Just letting you all know that you may aswell let your temperatures get as high as you want.
Oh yeah, would I see much of improvement if I go over to a X1900GT?
I have a E6600, 2GB Corsair XMS2 and a Gigabyte 965 S3.
how much of a jump would I get? Is £70 a decent price for one?
