    DVI to HDMI help

I'm interested in buying a 37inc LCD TV from a friend but it only has a D-sub connection for attaching a pc. As I want to use my DVI port on my pc is it worth me buying a DVI to HDMI connector or just using the d-sub?

If I do will it still give me the same visual benefits of DVI over an analogue connection? Will windows XP recognise the TV as a regular monitor? Will high definition content come out at the correct scaling? Also is it worth me just buying a 24/27 inch monitor for roughly the same price?

    Thanks

My HTPC is connected up to my 50" rp screen via DVI to HDMI, pic is excellent, much better than the dsub pic I got. At 1280x720 res it's fine for web browsing too.

That depends. If the card supports HDCp and has DVI out, then no. But if there's no HDCP on the card, then yes.

That's whre AnyDVD HD comes into play.

Thanks guys for your help. Decided not to get the Tv as the dvd play back was crap. Didn't show colours correctly, but was great for playing games.
