what chipset to go for for E6700 rig

heyhey, gonna start building a new gaming rig soon based around the core 2 duo E6700 chip and wondering what would be the best mobo chipset to go for ?

i'll be going for an nvidia gfx card with the intent to go SLI in the future (prolly not for over a year tho) and want DDR2 support as fast as poss

from looking around i can see 2 options, the intel P35 and the nforce 680i
the G35 seems to support better RAM+FSB speeds, but not SLI/true 2x16x PCI-E while the nforce seems to be the opposite

    so what's ppl's opinions on this 1 ?

I would urge you not to go with a 680i board, they are still problematic after all this time.

SLI isnt a good choice either, unless you have a screen with a massive resolution, and even then, the problems would probably outweigh the enjoyment.

At the moment, the P35 chipset is the best performing and best overclocking, and is rock solid.

For my money, it would be a P35 chipset board, and a good single card.

P35 is cross-fire not sli !! You'll want a 680i mobo or the cut down 650i if you intend to go sli allthough many would say its a bit of a waste of cash !!
Hark the children of the Resolution !!

    cheers for the quick replies
good point about the SLI, as i'll be getting an 8800GTX i doubt SLI will be a requirement any time soon - now that i think about it, by the time i feel another card is actually needed, they'll be a MUCH better single card out by then

hmm today read that the 1333 FSB E6750 is out
is there any point in upgrading to DDR3 for the 1:1 rate to match the FSB or would it be fine to run DDR2 at 1066 and the FSB at 1333 without any bottleneck probs ?
if anyone can offer me a link to a guide to explain the 2 would be cool as i don't think i quite fully understand the FSB and RAM speed link properly, i just kind of have a jist from what i've been reading lately
