Ok:
Well I have a very nice HD DVD collection, and I have my 360 HD DVD drive hooked up to my pc, it is all fully installed and recognised by Windows XP SP3 - using the UDF driver.
It can access the disk, and once the tray has closed the explorer window comes up showing the contents of the disk.
Now...
I am using Power DVD 7.3 due to its native support of HD DVD playback (this was removed in PDVD 8), it worked fine when I was using my temporary graphics card, a X1650 Pro using the VGA port into my monitor.
I have D22W-1 TFT which supports HDCP through DVI, I have a 3850 graphics card which again supports HDCP through DVI. I am using an Abit N73-HD Motherboard with onboard graphics (7100) and I know that PowerDVD does not like it when you have two display set up, so I have tried disabling it in windows and the bios and the problem is still the same.
So to the problem:
I load up a movie, it will load the first section, i.e. I can hear the music in the background say of the opening sequence with the studios logo etc, but all I get in PowerDVD is a black screen.
It will then stop and freeze playback at 23 seconds (or similar depending on the disk) then if I press close / stop or anything else on PowerDVD it crashes the player and changes the status of the program to "Not Responding" in task manager.
Normal DVDs play back perfectly fine using the 360 Drive add-on.
I have tried downloading codecs, and reinstalling Power DVD, tried using AnyDVD etc. all to no avail - it is deeply frustrating and I'm pretty annoyed it doesn't work
Can anyone provide any information? I've looked around and people have similar problems but there doesn't seem to be a definitive fix.
