    Re: HP 2133 (MiniNote)

    Only just seen there's been a reply to this. Thank you.

    I know a bit more about it now. Still want to find out "what" the technical refresh will be.

    As long as it's the same screen size/resolution, but faster CPU, I'm "in".

    Seen one in the flesh - on the train. Admit it: you've all seen a nice laptop on the train, and looked, pretended not to look, but then looked again (etc). Well, I can confirm, that it's the ideal "size" for what I'm looking for.

    I think PCWb have them, so I should just go in and "play" with one. (Wouldn't have to peek, then, would I?)

    Re: HP 2133 (MiniNote)

    I've been trying to solicit help from a 2133-specific forum about "battery charging stations" for the MiniNote.

    A thread (by someone with the same name as me; isn't that strange?) can be found here:
    -> HP Battery Charging Stations.

    To bring this thread up to date,
    -> 2133/2140 1-bay BCS: RW635AA (~£150)
    -> 2133/2140 5-bay BCS: RW636AA (~£405)

    I managed to procure a 1-bay version earlier this evening on eBay for ~£108.

    I'm now considering whether I need 6-cell batteries or not.

    Thoughts?

    Post Bluetooth?

    Sorry, another question for all you clever Hexusalites. (That sounds ominous... It means "Hexus People".)

    I read here that the 2140 among other things will have:
    -> Bluetooth 2.0.

    Does the 2133 have BT? Did just some versions have BT?

    (I had the "stock" 1.2ghz/1gb/120gb/linux (yuck) model, so I bet that BT was left out. )

    Re: HP 2133 (MiniNote)

    We have one at work along with all the other netbooks available at the time. We get every model through the door as one memeber of staff or another wants on.

    The HP is a good little laptop but as you have found its got the slowest cpu on the market for the netbooks and no Bluetooth. This is due to HP once again ripping off anyone outside of the USA. If you bought this laptop in the USA you could spec it up to have bluetooth, a better 1.6GHz cpu, more memory and hard drive space. In the UK we get the bog standard model and no options of upgrading it further.

    What it does have going for it is the screen res 1200x900 I think it was and the build quality is the best of the bunch with the brushed aluminium. Other than that I would say there are better out there, this is the whole reason why I left the HP alone and bought myself the Samsung NC10. There is also the price issue the HP is the most expensive on the market for what you get with exception to the bigger models Asus seem to be bashing out.

    Seriously, if you want to know anything about any of the netbooks on the market atm and which would be better for your needs or expectations just drop me a PM any time and I will let you know the pro's and con's of the model in question

    Academic's seem to love the things so we get around 3 - 4 through the office a week for us to get them up and running for them
