Driver/utility download query

I recently tried to set up an unused Peak 2401 wireless PCI card (still in the box) in my Mesh Elite desktop PC. The card spec lists ME and XP compatibility and I've used the Peak CD to load the drivers and utility on an older 500MHz Asus PC with XP Pro on it - no probs. However, I can't do it on my more modern and faster PC loaded with WIN Media XP. I'm stumped! The CD uses a standard Install Shield wizard but the set up indicator remains at 0% - doesn't perform. Note my WIN OS has been fully updated and SP3 is loaded. Could this be a factor? How to resolve this prob? Any other user experienced a similar prob? Any useful advice appreciated as I want to add my main PC to my wireless network.

maybe try and download the latest drivers for it

Yeah. I tried to download from the company website but it behaved in the same way as the CD download. I noticed the card has been discontinued but that shouldn't make any difference - still stumped.

did you try using another pci slot? also try not to install the software but just the driver thru device manager. good luck
