    Internet Pages Stop Loading...

After about 45minutes browsing the internet all pages open on internet explorer will just not load / navigate to anywhere else and opening other pages makes no difference.
MSN Messenger works perfect so there is no problem with the connection.

Thought it was the browser so downloaded Firefox......same thing.
Could it be because Firefox transfers all Internet Explorer settings though?

Is this a stupid setting that just needs changed or something more serious?

Have run AVG and Ad-Aware to no avail.

    Thanks in advance

    Re: Internet Pages Stop Loading...

Check your firewall, my sis' laptop was doing almost the same thing (could navigate for 5 minutes fine and then just refused to connect to any more pages)
in the end it turned out to be an update to windows firewall i think

    Re: Internet Pages Stop Loading...

Have tried turning all firewalls / security programs off and also have updated every program on the computer but the problem still persists.
    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks

    Re: Internet Pages Stop Loading...

i don't know what platform you're using or anything like that, but go into the wireless properties and disable 'TCP/IPv6' (untick it) then restart, should fix it

    Re: Internet Pages Stop Loading...

Im having exactly the same issues, everything network related will work perfectly fine, i can ping through CMD, use msn, play online games.

The problem arises when browsing with Firefox (havent tried with IE), it's as if the internet is not longer working, although it is - just not in browser. When the problem kicks in IE no longer loads pages either

If i close firefox during the problem it usualy stays in the memory - manually killing the processes and restarting firefox sometimes gets it working again.

    Re: Internet Pages Stop Loading...

If you cant load pages but messengers work then something got messed up with DNS, open command prompt and enter: ipconfig /flushdns

    Re: Internet Pages Stop Loading...

Are you using Vista? You probably need to open command prompt with admin privileges and then type that command. Try it like this: All Programs > Accessories > right click Command Prompt and click Run as administrator.

Which ISP are you using? Are you using their DNS servers?

Also - do you have another PC that uses this connection? If so can you reproduce the fault on that box?

Reset all internet explorer settings. Disable all firewalls. And AVs. And surf for 45mins and see what happens. If it happens again, try the following in CMD...

    Code:
    ipconfig /flushdns
    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /renew
