    Mic volume low?

    Hiya there.

Got a problem with my mic, I have to shout to make it pick up my voice or any sound for that matter, I don't understand it, if it's picking up audio when am shouting it's working so why the sensetively so low?

I have a SB X-Fi™ XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Pro card with latest drivers installed, mic boost is on and all the settings seem correct, the mic is just a plug and play thing.

Mic is plugged in the correct port, only port it can go infact on the card.

    Any ideas?

Hmm, it's just a cheap 5 quid mic, nothing great, all I can tell you it is from Trust, no drivers/software or anything like that.

Used to work on the old PC, but I moved over to a new one and well not working like it should.

    Using Windows XP Pro S3.

Have you tried without your Xi-Fi? Have you set the mic volume to max in your OS? I assume you're running Vista. I had similiar problems but mine were only because the morons at Realtek decide to release drivers with locked microphone outbound volumes.

Only using XP Pro S3, used to have Vista installed, mic volume is on high, mute is off and so on.

Hmm, will try plugging it into the motherboards mic port and see if it works there.
