Problem with new build

Hey everyone

I finally got round to started my first build but I've hit a bit of a problem. Everything is connected and appears to look fine but when I turn on the PC, all the fans whir and lights that should come on do but I don't get any beeps at all and when I plug the monitor in it says no signal. I know the monitor works as I'm using it now. I've also plugged in the speakers in case that's the problem. I understand that it's fairly easy to diagnose a problem but counting the beeps, but I'm not getting a single one!

Just for your info my set up is:

Phenom II X4 955BE
Gigabyte MA770-UD3 revision 2
4gb PC2-8500 DDR2 RAM
Antec 300 case
Corsair HX450W 450w modular PSU
Samsung F1 1tb
SATA DVD rewriter
Asus HD4870 512mb

Also, I'm using a fairly old PC so am using the DVI-VGA converter.

Any help would be appreciated guys!

Odds are, something isn't connected, isn't connected properly, or is dead. Reinstall each component, reattach every cable. Make sure every cable is attached, including the P4 CPU power connection and the PCI-E cable. See how it goes from there.
