OMG Im going to burn this pc as its the only way im going to get the gremlins out of it at this rate.
PC still crashing but it is odd as i will be using the PC say surfing the web and lessening to some music mp3 in WMP when the mouse cursor will stick? So it seems like the PC has crashed right? But the music will still keep playing but only to the end of the currently playing song....
I tried another mouse, ctrl, alt,del, winkey+L, ant +f4, ctrl +****+ Esc.
Never seen a crash like this where music will play to the end of the track and then stop?
Any ideas?
I have now tried new RAM, New PSU, New MOBO, ran memtest, Seagate HDD test.
All have passed fine without problems.
Only one left is the CPU stress test to try?
I had a P4 system that never worked right no matter what I did, you reach a point wher you feel you have burnt enough time/money on the thing and then wait for an excuse to bin it! I switched to using a laptop for a while as I could not face having doggy machine. However your computer after it will be a dream.... My i7 rig so much nicer oin every way.

You can try some of the CPU stress tests from UBCD
http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/
Just burn the ISO and boot from CD/DVD.
You can also use Prime95 for stress testing in windows http://mersenneforum.org/gimps/p95v2511.zip
Try to run CPU/RAM tests for at least 24 hours
Have you stress tested your Graphics card?
Can you replicate the crash or is it intermittent?

Intermittent but think i found what it was as tested my PC with fresh install of Win 7 64Bit and left it for testing with just drivers installed and all worked fine for days then started windows update and installed KB976902 which has been causing it to hang intermittently but like every couple of hours so think i have finally found the problem after all that.
Have reinstalled windows again as can not remove KB976902 once installed and all so far seems ok. Will keep testing and let you lot know if i get any more probs.
Cheers
well that is an obscure problem. This update is needed for SP1 whenever it comes out apparently so it's very odd that it impacts system stability.
That looked like the problem from hell malice19. Thanks for reporting it so well, learnt a lot from this thread folks.
Hope you aren't back again in a month feller!
