    DVD drive problem

    Hi,

I'm hoping somebody can help me with this because I'm pulling my hair out!

I've been running an internal Sony Optiarc AD-5240s DVD drive through a SATA connection using Vista. Recently I have started having problems with audio CDs. The drive will no longer read audio CDs other than the first 30 seconds or so of the first track. This happens no matter what software I am using (eg itunes or Windows Media Player)

I tried swapping the drive with an identical drive from another PC but it has had no effect. I also tried a full re-install of Windows (I was about to do this anyway), but nothing has changed. The drive can still write audio CDs as usual, and has no problem reading or writing DVDs.

If anybody has any ideas I'd be very greatful!!!

    Rob

    Aussie ?
I'm a little confused. Is the PC not reading from the drive., so that when you swap the drive into another machine it works perfectly ?
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

    Re: DVD drive problem
