Out of interest what Heatsink are you using?

The only reason I say this is because I am using a CM Aerolite & the heat from my G/card x800xt was causing the cpu to go sky high because of the design of the heatsink i'e drawing hotair directly from the G/card.
My solution was an Artic G/card cooler which has solved the prob 100%

    Just an idea

I just turned it off if thats what your trying to imply invalidpagefaul. To ReDOcToBeR I have a generic fan that came with the processor. To menthel, I spread it all over evenely and used a razor blade to make sure it wasnt to thick.

Maybe this will help also... I am no theif so dont get me wrong ok! I have an emulator for MAME arcade games. I only have one rom and thats because I own the game. Marvel Vs. Capcom. I got it because the game cd cracked and wont play anymore and I love that game. Well when I play it threw Mame32, and with NOTHING else in the background with some exceptions of Norton antivirus and Rambooster, it will completely shut off my computer just like the way the computer usually shuts down after a while. Thats just using one program!

    I have two questions...

    1. Is there any way to run a type of memory test without making a boot disk? I do not have a floppy and trying it with cd's didnt work to well :\

    2. What can we just these shutdowns on? Memory? CPU? and What can we cancel out?

Well thanks a lot guys and i'm sorry for nagging all the time like this.

Memtest do good bootable CD here - http://www.memtest86.com/#download1

Memory usually would cause a blue screen,an overheating CPU would cause shutdown but so would a borked Graphics card.Failing all that have you considered the power supply?Could you boot the PC without the Harddrive so it would sit with just the command prompt blinking so you could rule out a software problem?See if it shutsdown.

Not a Hard drive problem, Just got a new one and it did the same before I got the new one. Not the power supply either, I got a brand new antec true blue 440w because of this problem. Still does it though. I dont think it could be my brand new videocard because when the computer shuts off, EVERYTHING shuts off. (i.e. red light on my nf7-s always stays on when I turn my computer on but when the computer shuts off, everything else mobo etc... soo light turns off also) I was thinking my CPU but the tempatures are quite low to my understanding. I think it could possibly be Memory but would memory make everything shut off lilke that?

Hey Shogun... Could it really be the Northbridge? Considering how new day mobo's have heatsinks on the northbridges right? Mine doesnt and I do have some pretty decently good stuff in my box. But why would they not put a Heatsink on a NF7-S?

P.s. Since you've got me convinced with getting a heatsink, Tell me which one is better between these three please.

Are you sure your Northbridge does'nt have a heatsink and fan on the Northbridge? It's the chip between the CPU socket and the AGP slot.I thought they came installed on all NF7-s boards.

I thought so too... Considering they are very high quality mobo's but not mine. Maybe they do some and just forgot mine :'(

wait wait wait wait!!! Between the CPU and The AGP? There IS a fan! BUT I JUST CHECKED AND IT WASNT SPINNING!!!

Now I dont know if thats been doing that all those times but now I have reasonable evidence to keep my eye on that! If it keeps turning off then hmm something is very very wrong. I never noticed this before, GOSH DANGET!

Oh and can a computer be shut down like mine is by the southbridge being hot? My southbridge gets pretty darn warm.
