Hi there,
I'm having a problem with my monitor not communicating with my PC, all I'm getting is a 'no signal or connection unplugged' message. Am at my witts end.
My system specs are as follows:
Soltek Qbic EQ3401 P4 SFF
3GHZ P4
1GB 3200 DDR400 Corsair XMS memory
ilyama Vision master 1454 19" LS902UT CRT monitor
Gigabyte ATI Radeon 9800 128mb
120GB maxtor 7200 hard disk.
Windows XP Pro
Now here's the background to the problem.
My computer (which runs Windows XP Pro) was up and running when I unplugged the monitor to attach it to my laptop. All was ok. When I'd finished I unplugged fmonitor from laptop and back into VGA 15pin port on video card in system (which was still switched on and running). I got a picture ok and all seemed well. I plugged in my mouse and keyboard (both PS/2) back into the pc as I had been using them on my laptop then realise my mouse was not working. Couldn't get away from Windows XP pro log in screen so pressed system reset button to boot up system again. Yep you guesssed it this is when it came up with the no signal message.
I did the obvious and checked the monitor cable was plugged in correctly and that the finger screws were sufficiently tight. No problems here. Tried the monitor into the generic VGA port that is in inbuilt into motherboard but no joy.
Tried different monitor and still not working. Tried plugging monitor back into laptop to see if I could get a picture and yep got a picture no problem. Plugged back into PC and still no picture.
Am at my wits end as have been battling with this all evening. Has anyone go any bright ideas on how to end my problems. Any suggestions or help will be most happily accepted.
Cheers
Christian
