    Start up problem

    Hi
I have just put some AS5 on my processor and now the pc wont boot properly, it turns on ok but thats it. The screen stays off and there is no power going to the usb ports. Ive tried clearing the CMOS but nothing it do seems to work.

Any help would be greatly apprichated.

    Thanks, Lee

Did you remove the processor? Is it inserted in the socket correctly? Did any AS5 get anywhere it shouldn't?

Check you have not slightly dislodged a cable or the memory or a graphics card. If that fails then pull everything out except for CPU and memory and graphics and see if it will start.

Good advice - sounds lijke a cable dislodged - or something not inserted correctly when the system was re-assembled. All PSU cables connected properly? Any of those little cables connecting power/reset/leds to the mobo dislodged? Cheeck all connections etc. Do the fans start up? Any beeps from the system speaker?

Ive taken it into my local pc shop to see if they can find the problem.

But ive got a feeling the processor has died because it doesnt work in my other motherboard.
