Could I get tips on airflow please?

    Hi

Here's how it is at the moment:

Where I have the 2 x 80mm fans at the back, I can put a 120mm fan. Would I be better off doing that?

Also, the fan that's right in the middle is an 80mm fan in my window which can be easily modded. Where would I be best off putting more fans? I was thinking about a 120mm over the graphics and pci cards, and maybe another one above it over the freezer?

Feel free to add to my picture!

    Tim

    Is noise an issue?
What chassis do you have mate?
If the middle 80mm could be lowered to blow cool air directly over the gfx card that would be good.
Does the PSU not have an intake on the bottom?

    Hi

    Thanks for your help.

My case is a Super Flower SF-461T2-S with top and side windows.

My PSU is a SilentX with a 120mm fan at the bottom, just above the CPU.

My temps are high at the moment...I'm still running the rig in my sig. The CPU reaches about 65 degrees C with the case being over 50. At the mo the side of my case is off and I'm using a 12" desk fan to blow inside it.

Noise Is an issue with me...I'd like to keep it as quiet as poss.

Would it be worth swapping the 2 x 80mm at the back for 1 x 120mm?

How about adding a 120mm fan over the PCI cards, next to the 80mm fan in the window?

    I would.

Those are high temps, I'm assuming nothing is clogged up with dust like the cpu heatsink?

How about selling the case n fans and buying a new one ?

I was going tog et the aluminium one from misco I saw in the bargain forum but they've all gone now

Any cheap ones you'd suggest for my new rig?

    Opteron 165..going up!
    Asus A8N-SLI SE
    1.5Gb RAM
    Samsung Spinpoint SATA 250gb
    NEC DVD writer with labelflash
    Liteon 16X DVD ROM

Not too fussy about what the case is like.

This is my cases air flow. It's relatively simple and I'm not using the wind tunnel. I have a cpu cooler blowing hot air straight out to the 120mm exhaust.

Your freezer pro has the fan mounted on the front side blowing cool air onto the heatsink, towards the two 80mm exhaust yes?

My case temp is 23C, CPU core 31C, socket 29C

    Cheers for that Rhyth

Yeah, It will have the fan blowing onto the heat sink then out the back. My HSF at the mo is a more traditional design blowing onto the motherboard.

Can you adjust the PSU fan speeds? Increasing that may help for now.

    Not sure about that.

Are any of these cases good? I like the one with 2 x 80mm fans over the pic slots

Not sure, ill have a smooch in there.
The coolermaster Centurion 530 would maybe have dropped as it's been superceeded with the 531, it's finding one though

x2 80mm fans will be louder than x1 good 120mm.

The akasa eclipse is a great case. Nice and big and very cool running. Much cheaper Than it used to be and runs 2x120mm fans.

    Thanks Status Quo!

I think I'll just mod my case...so what would be the best way to go about it?

I'll get a load of cheap fans of ebuyer because the reviews on there say they're quiet.

    But where to put them?

Would it be worth cutting a hole in the top and having a fan in there?
