    PC won't boot

    Hello,

    I got a pc which won't boot

On the MB (asus a7nbx-e) there's a light indicating that there's power to the board. Switching it on the fans come on for about 2 secs then stops, no HDD light or activity.

I've changed the power cable , power suply, CPU, and memory still same problem.

Think the MS is dead, anyone think the same? or something i've not considered.

BTW the pc has been working for over 2 years no problems.

    Cheers for any help

try resetting the cmos, its a jumper on the mobo, look in ur manual but u need to change the jumper for a few seconds WITH POWER DISCONNECTED then change it back and reboot, will most likely say CPU is unworkable and ask u to go in ur bios, check settings and reboot. If this doesnt work then it would likely be a mobo problem since u have eliminated most other causes

i had the exact same problem on a dfi ultra-d and it turned out to be a dead "crystal" on the motherboard.
