    temps so to high

    i just installed an xp 120 and my temps at stock are around the 35 mark this is the same if not worse than the stock cooler what is wrong?

    That temp sounds quite good to me, still it all depends what items you are using...

    is that at load or idle? What processor? 35 degrees on say a pentium d would be awesome

    opteron 146 plus mate had this problem when i overclock it it auto sets back to stock how to stop this? and what causes it?

    they are too high stock cooler did better at stock speed that 35 idle

    just a thought i just didnt think about this till in bed last nite, does the fan on top of a hsf blow air down onto the chip and fins or does it extract?
    mine is currently on extract but i thought last nite that blowing air al over it would cool beter am i being a mug here just because you dont think about it with stock hsf coz its all there and u dont notice??

    imo better blowing down (can vary with case layout though) as it will also usually cool the memory, PWM etc.

    wat does the stock one do??
    im thiking blowing down to bcause the fan does create a nice breeze

    blowing downwards on those heatsinks mate.

    is your case well ventilated? and when you take the heatsink off, is the thermal paste evenly spread, or is there gaps where its not been making contact?

    umm well i will have a proper check later but it may be because i had the hsf extracting instad of blowing i would have thought this is the issue

    it might be that, but what are your load temps? I get 34 on water at idle, it just only goes up to like 38 at full load (both cores)

    my 3700 is idling at 32 at 2.6 if thats any help, goes down to 28-30 on stock
