Cpu Temps Too High?

Ok so i think that my cpu temps are to high it is a 46degrees idle, on a xp2100 overcloked to 2.2ghz.
i have a cheapo speeze heatsink and fan and the thermal paste is the stuff that was already applied to the heatsink can someone tell me where i have gone wrong .

46oC degrees idle on air for a 2100XP overclocked to 3200XP speeds is fine with that hsf m8... what do you expect?, those chips can run fine up to 60's on air, is it stable right now? what's your vcore at 2.2g speeds?

do you reckon that if i fit a thermalright ax-7 heatsink and zalman fan it will improve just checking vcore will post it in a min.

according to asus pc probe the vcore is at 1.648

Ok the vcore is at default.
Temps are fine m8, i dont' know that thermaltake hsf so can't say if it will really help the situation. I've heard that this http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/info_2675.html Zalman hsf is good and silent, bit pricey tho. How much is the cpu temp at full load with your current hsf? Any link/pic showing your current hsf?

As Byron said, there is absolutely nothing wrong with your temps!
If they reach 60C while under load, then mabey you will need to change the HSF but untill then there is no need to worry

Umm, Daymonkey, I think that you should hide under your computer desk! Wouldn't want to get hit on the head by falling debris. And remember, if you are buried alive, conserve oxygen by not farting!

Exactly. Unless your computer is crashing, your CPU isn't too hot. My brother's Tbred A has been running at 1.79V, 60C, 100% load 24/7 for more than 18 months now with no ill effects at all.

well temps have suddenly dropped down to 39 degrees idle, might be the cold air kickign in from outside.
