    Talking Dvd to External HDD via USB?

    Hey there

    I've been looking at all the dvd players with usb connections. If i purchase one of these 'bad boys' will i i be able to connect my external HDD to it and watch videos.

    I personally wouldn't bother with an external DVD writer.

    Get an internal one and an Easy IDE from Scna for a tenner to make it into USb 2.0, then you can plug anything IDE into it (DVD, HDD, 2.5" HSS, etc)

    i would guess so, but it depends what they are using the poort for. What you are looking for in the spec is USB Host support. this means it acts like a PC as for as the hard drive in concerned. The only other use of a USB port on a DVD player i can think of is to tunr it into an external DVD drive...and that doesn't sound very useful.

    What models are you looking at specifically?

    i havnt been looking at any dvd players specifically, just want one that can go from external HDD to dvd player. Any suggestions anyone??
