I don't want people to copy my DVD...

..that I've burnt with Ulead VideoStudio 10 plus.

So I was wondering if there was a setting in there that has any kind of copy protectin (like Adobe Encore) or if perhaps doing a bit of LabelFlash on the DVD would confuse burners?

Any help would be appreciated. It's got the usual copyright notice but this won't stop people.

    Cheers

    Tim

In all honesty, nothing you can do will stop people, there's always a way around copy protection.

Well whats the problem then? I'm also guessing by this that the poeple buying your DVD are also not the sort of poeple that would copy it just to avoid paying for it either.

If you are recording to regular blank DVD disks, there is no way to impliment any copy control methods. Look at the surface of a DVD-R, that thin line is where CSS and region codes should be written. The data there is blank obviously. This is the only difference between consumer DVD-R and authoring DVD-R disks.

If you really want copy control (despite the fact it is basically useless anyway) you need to get your disks pressed (500 copies minimum) and pay for the CSS and/or Macrovision license. You'd also have to author in a Pro authoring package that supports these features.

Just thought. i have no idea if DVD-R Authoring disks and drives are still available. Not the sort of thing you see much. Last time i used any, the disks were £20 each

Problem is, almost all DVD copying software just bypasses any protections without the user knowing. All the major ones in use do anyway.
If you want the harsh truth, just forget it.
Sony have spent lots of money in this area with technologies such as ARccOS and I think that took less than a few days to crack.
